PHOENIX -- An infant was found abandoned at a Phoenix church Thursday morning.

Phoenix police officers responded to radio traffic of an abandoned infant in front of St. Mark's Church, according to Detective Reuben M. Gonzales.

He said the call came in from an anonymous source.

Gonzales said officers were unable to locate the baby. They contacted the Phoenix Fire Department and were told hat the infant was taken to County Hospital by Phoenix Fire.

The 24-hour-old child was examined and is in good health.

The child is now in the custody of the hospital.
