Triple-murder suspects arrested, are brothersPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- The following is a press release from the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office:
Maricopa County Sheriff's Office detectives arrested Jonathan Mena-Cobian DOB (10/07/86) and his brother John Mena DOB (06/27/89), suspects in a 2007 triple homicide case.
The two brothers made the high profile warrant list after shooting a vehicle with eight occupants inside, hitting six of them, and leaving three dead on June 14, 2007 in the City of Phoenix. Sheriff's detectives assigned to the FBI Fugitive Task Force worked the case and tracked Jonathan Mena-Cobian to a Fountain Hills residence yesterday, where deputies immediately took him into custody.
Deputies continued the hunt for John Mena, but finding him became all too easy today when he appeared for his brother's initial appearance. Deputies waited for John to come into the court room this morning and quickly put him in handcuffs.
Jonathan Mena-Cobian faces first and second degree murder charges and John Mena is charged with felony aggravated assault, both at being held at the Fourth Avenue Jail.
