Man jumps out of plane via exit door on Sky Harbor runwayPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX - A passenger jumped out of an emergency exit onto the wing of an airplane at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The plane had finished taxiing up to its gate at Sky Harbor when the 37-year-old man opened the exit door and left the plane.
Airport workers were able to talk the man down from the wing and police took him into custody at Terminal 3.
Police have not released the man's name.
Police say the jumper was a person with possible emotional or mental issues.
The flight took off from Salt Lake City.
Federal police are interrogating the man, and police say charges are pending.
The incident is now under investigation.
