Officers of the Flagstaff Police Department arrested a man after he reportedly shot at another man while waiting to attend an alcohol treatment program.
At about 5:39 PM officers were called to the Alano Club at 2102 East Third Avenue to investigate an intoxicated subject, wearing a holstered pistol.While enroute, dispatchers advised the officers that a shot had been fired and the suspect may have left the area.
Officers stopped a red Jeep described from the scene at about Rose Avenue at Fourth Street.The male driver, 45-year-old Charles Lherault was disarmed and removed from the vehicle.He told officers that he did not want another male at the meeting area, pointed a gun at him and asked if he was "scared to die."& #160; He then shot once, missing the victim.The bullet lodged in a nearby barbeque.At that time, he'd had a pistol on each hip and one in his lap.Mr. Lherault was initially arrested for 2nd degree attempted homicide and extreme DUI.The charges will be reviewed by the County Atty's office.
Wendy Leversee, 33, of Michigan, was with Lherault in the Jeep.A pistol was removed from her as well and she was transported to a motel without criminal charges.
