Bruce gets details

PHOENIX -- 3TV's Bruce Haffner got details from some local sources on what was reported moments before US Airways flight 1549 crashed into the Hudson River in New York.

Sources say that a real-time reporting system tied into the plane's mechanics reported a catastrophic event in engine one, followed by a catastrophic event in engine two.

Initial reports are that the plane flew through a flock of birds.

According to mechanics 3TV spoke to, the jet engines on the plane are tested by their manufacturer - General Electric - to withstand numerous objects, including a 20+ pound turkey, numerous 5+ pound chickens, and a fire hose shooting full-blast into the engine.
