MRSA case confirmed at Tucson schoolPosted: Updated:
TUCSON -- A strain of the dangerous and drug resistant bacteria known as MRSA has been confirmed at Tucson's Desert View High School.
Sunnyside Unified School District officials say a student is being treated for a skin infection that yesterday was confirmed was due to MRSA.
After the student became ill, Desert View custodians, as a precaution, disinfected the school's gym, locker rooms and restrooms, as well as classrooms the student was assigned to. After MRSA was confirmed yesterday, school officials say the entire school was disinfected.
