Alcohol involved in hit and run accident that injured officerPosted: Updated:
SCOTTSDALE - Scottsdale police arrest a suspect involved in a hit and run accident with a police officer.
According to Scottsdale police the officer was stopped at a red light on Shea Blvd. and Hayden Road.
The suspect, Brandon Warwick failed to stop and hit the rear end of Officer Devlin's patrol car. That impact forced the Scottsdale officer into the car in front of him.
Warwick backed-up and fled the scene in the other direction on Shea Blvd.
Patrol units caught up with Warwick at Miller Road and Shea Blvd where he was taken into custody for DUI and hit and run.
The Scottsdale officer was transported to SHC-Shea and treated for a laceration to the face. The 41-year-old driver in the other vehicle was not hurt.Warwick will face extreme DUI charges for having a BAC over .20%.
