Valley doctor indicted for murder, manslaughter now in Phx.Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- The following is a press release from the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office:
Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Homicide detectives [arrived Friday evening] in Phoenix with Dr.Peter Norman, DOB 04-16-61.
Peter Norman fled the country last year shortly after deputies began investigating three suspicious deaths of his patients in his Anthem clinic.
On October 17, 2008 Norman was indicted by the County Attorney's Office on two counts of second degree murder and one count of manslaughter.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office was notified last week that Norman was arrested on the international warrant out for his arrest when he arrived in an Ohio airport.
Deputies flew to Ohio to complete the extradition and bring Norman to face charges in Maricopa County.
"This was a difficult and complex case in which many resources were used by the Sheriff's Homicide detectives," says Sheriff Joe Arpaio. "And now Peter Norman will have to face justice in the court."
