Chopper crash victims worked for Peoria Police
BLACK CANYON CITY - Two Peoria police officers have been identified as having been onboard the experimental chopper that crashed near Black Canyon City.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office says Peoria Police Officer Mike Gauchat and police Services Officer Donna Cullum were killed in the crash on Friday. 3TV has learned that the couple was dating for about a year.
The experimental helicopter, built from a kit, made by the Safari Company crashed into some rough terrain just west of Interstate-17.
The cause remains under investigation. Now the Federal Aviation Administration and NTSB will be looking into the cause of the deadly crash.
