PHOENIX -- Three children died in a collision on U.S. 93 south of Wikieup Sunday afternoon, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

A 2003 Ford Explorer was traveling northbound on U.S. 93 in the left lane when the driver lost control for an unknown reason. The vehicle rolled over and collided with a 2008 Toyota Scion, which was traveling northbound in the right lane, causing it to roll over.

Seven people were in the Ford and two people were in the Toyota.

DPS Officer Robert Bailey said three of the passengers in the Ford sustained fatal injuries. They have been identified as Las Vegas residents Leslie S. Rodriquez, 16, Miguel Rodriguez, 16, and Josue Rodriguez, 8. Miguel Rodriguez was not restrained and was ejected from the vehicle.

The driver of the Ford, Leticia Ovando-Deterraza, 37, Rene Rodriguez, 19, and Aliza Deterraza, 4, of Las Vegas were treated and released from a Kingman-area medical center.

Three-month old Lizet Yareli-Rodriguez of Las Vegas was treated and released from a Phoenix-area medical center.

The driver of the Toyota, Luigi Sziklay, 56, and passenger Patricia Sziklay, 53, of Scottsdale sustained serious injuries and were admitted to a Phoenix-area medical center.

Luigi Sziklay was not wearing a seat belt.
