UPDATE: The second suspect was apprehended just before 3 p.m.
Follow-up interviews conducted by detectives led to the home address of the suspect who had fled the crime scene. He has been identified as 22-year-old Jonathan Alvarez Gomez.
Gomez was arrested at his home.
TEMPE - A man was taken into custody as he was caught during an alleged home robbery.
Michael Luna, 20, was arrested in connection with a residential burglary on Friday just before 11 a.m. in the 1800 block of Don Carlos Avenue in Tempe.
Police got a call from someone saying two men were taking property from a neighbor's house. Officers arrived on scene and saw the suspects, identified as Hispanic males, try to flee from officers in a car before bailing out and running on foot.
Police established a perimeter and a K9 officer helped locate one of the suspects. He was booked into Tempe City Jail and faces first-degree burglary charges and criminal damages.
