Employee arrested for stealing school's computersPosted: Updated:
The following is a press release from the Surprise Police Department:
SURPRISE -- On Wednesday, December 3, 2008 police arrested Edward Lutz, age 34, of Surprise AZ. for theft and trafficking, after serving a search warrant at his home.
Police were notified by school officials that Lutz, an employee of the Paradise Education Center (charter school) was in possession of missing school property.
An investigation into the missing school property, lead police to obtain a search warrant for Lutz' home. Upon completion of the search, detectives found several computers and electronics belonging to the school.
Detectives also discovered that Lutz had sold school computers and other school property on EBay.
Edward Lutz was arrested and charged with Theft and Trafficking in Stolen Property, then booked into the Maricopa County Jail. Detectives advised that the investigation is ongoing.
