Man robs Scottsdale bank, flees on bike

SCOTTSDALE -- The Scottsdale Police Department is looking for a suspect who robbed a Chase Bank near Scottsdale and McDowell roads Thursday afternoon.

Sgt. Mark Clark said the suspect presented the teller with a demand note, threatening the use of a gun. No gun was displayed. The teller complied and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash.

He fled on a mountain or BMX-style bicycle.

Police believe the suspect hangs out in the south Scottsdale area.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 140 pounds with blond hair and beard. He was wearing a blue polo shirt with long sleeves, a light-colored undershirt and a red baseball cap.

Surveillance photos show he has a tattoo on the right side of his neck that looks to be covered up or altered.
