Woman dead after knife fight with sister-in-law - azfamily.com's Tyler Baldwin reports a knife fight between two sisters in the west Valley ended in death.
The deadly double stabbing happened at about 2:30 p.m. at an apartment complex near 27th Avenue and Bethany Home.
According to Phoenix detectives, the fight took place inside an apartment on the bottom floor. Officers say there was some sort of an argument between two sisters-in-law. They do not know what that fight was over but police do know the argument lead to a knife fight.
Police are still combing through the apartment looking for any evidence as to what started this deadly brawl. 3TV is told it was a domestic issue and the older sister, Aminata Moutaba, 38, was stabbed to death. The other sister in law, a 25-year-old, was also stabbed but received non life-threatening injuries.
There was a kid involved, a 2-year-old who was not hurt. After the fight police say the 25-year-old sister grabbed the child and ran to the apartment office to call police.
This neighbor, who did not want 3TV to use her name, said the women just moved in.
3TV does not know who the 2-year-old child belongs to.
As for the 25-year-old, she is in a nearby hospital. Police say she had several cuts to her arms and hands.
The case is still under investigation and charges are pending.
