Valley residents have mixed reaction to Palin's speech

ST. PAUL - Republican vice presidential choice Sarah Palin has appeared on stage to a thunderous welcome by convention delegates.

It had to be her biggest moment in a roller-coaster week. Although Palin still awaits formal nomination for the second spot on the ticket with Sen. John McCain, for nearly a week she had been the most closely watched star in the Republican firmament.

The 44-year-old Alaska governor has seen questions raised about how closely the McCain campaign scrutinized her. She also has heard a wide range of inquiries about family issues, her positions on issues and her record of public service.
