Firefighters battle first-alarm restaurant fire in Glendale - Firefighters were called out to a first-alarm restaurant fire at 67th Avenue and Camelback Road Friday morning.
The fire broke out at about 7 a.m. Aerial video showed flames shooting from two separate places in the roof of the El Muelle Mariscos restaurant.
While the blaze had already worked it way into the attic by the time crews from Phoenix and Glendale arrived on the scene, firefighters were able to knock down those flames relatively quickly. Crews were hit with heavy fire and heavy smoke, but they had everything under control in about 40 minutes.
It's not known yet sparked the fire, but investigators from the Glendale Fire Department are on the scene.
The building is gutted. Firefighters said the flames were heaviest in the attic, which could be indicitive of an electrical issue.
Nobody was inside the restaurant when the fire started and no injuries were reported.>
