Police: 8 women fondled by West Phoenix AttackerPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX - A man is accused of targeting women across the Valley.
The man has been attacking women for months across a large portion on the West Valley from 41st Avenue to 107th Avenue and from Encanto Boulevard to Camelback.
So far he has hit eight victims and police believe there are more victims who have not come forward.
The victims have recently come up with a sketch and they are hoping that will lead to an arrest.
Sara Villasaez, a concerned mother, tells 3TV, "No woman deserves to be treated in this manner."
Police say he is on foot and his latest hit was on November 3. Police tell 3TV, "He approached two women, fondled them, and then left."
The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his 20 to 40s and stands no taller than 5'9.
"He begins a conversation sometimes, when he does speak, he speaks in Spanish," police explain.
Spanish speakers like Carla Salinas know the story well. He approaches adult women, even ones pushing strollers, then touches them inappropriately and runs.
Salinas says she is scared and another mother is scared, too. "I'd be terrified if something like that were to happen, that's something that changes your life."
Although police say so far the suspect has only touched, they fear he will change his tactics.
Officer Thompson says, "Anytime you've got people that are involved in any type of sexual perversion there's always the potential that it will get worse."
Villasaez admits, "I mean, I hope it doesn't happen again. I hope they find him. He needs to be found because obviously he doesn't belong in the public."
And women like Salinas cannot live in the shadows. Police say so far the man has not used violence but he did knock one of his victims to the ground.
