PHOENIX - On National Adoption Day in the Valley hundreds of adoptions were finalized as kids were placed with their forever families.

Casie Omundson and her husband Kevin have just adopted four foster care children with a fifth adoption on the way. As a former foster care child herself Casie knows just how important National Adoption Day is.

On Saturday 226 Valley children got a place to call home.

Presiding Juvenile Judge Eileen Willet explains, "You don't have to be rich, you don't have to have a fancy car or a big home, you just have to have that love in your heart to be able to adopt a child."

William Cheney, an adoptive parent, tells 3TV, "If I had waited until every day was perfect I would never have done this but now every day is perfect when they're in our house."

It is a house with open doors. Cheney and his wife have taken in three boys from Ethiopia.
