State launching recruiting campaign

Schools across Arizona are facing a critical shortage of high-quality math and science teachers.

Four hundred more math and 250 more science teachers will be needed statewide to accommodate the additional year of math and science required to graduate high school.

The problem? That's about 500 more than the state's universities graduate annually.

The state is planning to launch a campaign to recruit more math and science teachers.
