San Manuel man arrested after wife shotPosted: Updated:
MESA -- A Pinal County man has been arrested after his 80-year-old wife was found shot to death in their home.
A sheriff's report says 81-year-old San Manuel resident William Swink told a deputy that he shot his wife because she was in so much pain. He told them that it was hard for him to bear his wife's pain and that her screaming would keep him awake at night.
The report says Mary Swink was found in her bedroom early Wednesday after her husband called a neighbor and told her that he had just killed his wife.
Swink was booked on a first-degree murder charge and denied bail at his initial appearance on Thursday.
