Driver killed after truck with kids goes down 25-foot ravine

The Department of Public Safety provided the following information:
DPS says driver lost control


A man who was killed on State Route 89 on Tuesday afternoon has been identified.

The wreck took place as he was traveling southbound. The driver, identified as 40-year-old Kenny D. Cain, of Chino Valley, reportedly lost control of his truck and crossed into the northbound lane and went off the roadway into a guardrail and down an embankment. This happenended halfway between Ashfork and Prescott.

Also in the truck were 13-year-old Matthew Cain and 12-year-old Christopher Cain, both of whom were taken to Phoenix-area hospitals. According to the Department of Public Safety, neither of the boys were wearing their safety belts.

Kenny was partially ejected and another passenger was completely ejected.

Investigators have not determined exactly what caused the wreck.
