"The 40 Year Old Virgin", "Knocked Up", "Forgetting Sarah Marshall", are all starting to blend into one big comedy. They're all about the battle of the sexes and exploring our differences with as many outrageous comic setups and adult language as possible. "I Love You, Man" is the latest in this series and it too is funny, though don't look for it to be breaking any new comedic ground.

This time a happy couple, Paul Rudd and Rashida Jones (The Office) are engaged and planning their wedding. Only one hitch, Paul doesn't have anyone to be his best man because he's one of those guys that simply doesn't have one. He's a real sweetheart and women love him so he's never really felt the need or vacuum in his life until now. " " chronicles his adventures in finding a friend and bonding with him. He finds such a friend in the laid back, craziness that is Jason Segel.

The two have great chemistry and are fun to watch. I, for one, love Paul Rudd and have been a big fan for a long time. He is great here and this movie will finally put him on the map as a leading man. The cast boasts a lot of fine performances in small roles, most notably Andy Samberg, J.K. Simmons, Jon Faverau and Jaime Pressly. And it was an unexpected pleasure to see Jane Curtain!

"I Love You, Man" is a guy movie that just happens to make a great date movie. As long as you and your loved are very familiar and enjoy open sexual dialoguebecause you're going to get a snoot full in this movie!

LADIES ROOM LOWDOWN: There were plenty of laughs in the audience. But one guy behind me kept cracking me up with his commentary. He was bemused by Paul Rudd's character, saying stuff like, "Oh, no. He didn't. This guy's killing me!" He absolutely cringed at Rudd's clingy-sweet, dumb puppy personality!
