Most students fail AIMS science testPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- A majority of Arizona students failed the new AIMS science test, which was first given in the spring.
More than 60 percent of Arizona high school students failed. Only 38 percent actually passed.
Results released this week showed only slightly better results in lower grades.
About half of fourth- and eighth-grade students passed the AIMS science test.
Results were better in other areas, though. Sixty-seven percent passed math, 68 percent passed writing and 73 percent of Arizona students passed reading last spring.
