UPDATE: Transients accused of tying, robbing men caughtPosted: Updated:
PRESCOTT - An off-duty police officer helped capture suspects from a home invasion that occurred Tuesday night.
Police said they believed an escapee and an accomplice were knocking on doors in Prescott homes acting like their car had broken down and asking to use a phone.
When one homeowner opened the door the men allegedly put a gun to his head and tied him and a family member before robbing them.
The off-duty officer was eating breakfast at a local Denny's on Thursday morning when he recognized one of the suspects who entered to use the restroom and exited the restaurant.
The officer called police and they were able to apprehend 45-year old George Eugene Wood and 30-year-old James Isaac McAlister who are both described as transients.
Both suspects are being held without bond and face a long list of charges including aggravated assault, robbery and theft.
