Police chief headed to New Mexico

ST. JOHNS - The town of Saint Johns, Arizona, where the nine year old boy is accused of killing his dad and another man, is losing its police chief.

Chief Roy Melnick is leaving his post after less than a year and taking the job of police chief in Los Lunas, New Mexico.

The announcement was made on the Los Lunas city website.

Melnick has nearly 30 years of experience on the force.
