SURPRISE - Two Valley women are in custody after police served a search warrant at their home.
Police asked for the warrant during their investigation of a theft in Surprise. Sheila McCarthy, 31, and Christina Hansen, 31, were arrested. McCarthy is accused of stealing jewelry and other items from a family's home where she was working as a babysitter.
Detectives discovered in the home stolen credit cards and other stolen items as well as credit card receipts from a hair salon where Hansen was a manager. During the investigation, detectives discovered customers of the salon had their credit card information stolen and were used to buy items online.
McCarthy also allegedly stole credit card information from the family's home and bought items on the internet that were delivered to their house. Both women face aggravated identification theft and are in Maricopa County Jail.
