PHOENIX - A Valley man is lucky to be alive after he was hit by a stray bullet.

It happened Monday night near 10th Street and Southern Avenue.

The 22-year-old shooting victim told police he was sitting outside when the bullet hit him in the back of the head. Officers still do not know where the shot came from at this point in the investigation.

The man was reportedly awake on the way to Good Samaritan Medical Center and is expected to be okay.
