Woman shot in fight over money, suspects on the loose

PHOENIX -- A woman was wounded when shots rang out at her Phoenix home early Friday morning.

It happened at about 1 a.m. in the area of 42nd and Northern avenues.

According to police, the woman refused to let several people into her house. That's when somebody in the group pulled out a gun.

Investigators said the woman told them that a known acquaintance of her came to the door with two other people.

"An altercation came through the door, resulted in some shots being fired," said Sgt. Steve Rother of the Phoenix Police Department

A man in the group reportedly kicked in the door. Once inside, there was some kind of fight.

The woman was hurt, but she's expected to recover.

Investigators believe the fight might have been about money.

The suspects have not been found.
