Diamondbacks' Justin Upton put on disabled list

PITTSBURGH -- The Arizona Diamondbacks have placed outfielder Justin Upton on the 15-day disabled list due to a right oblique strain and purchased the contract of Trent Oeltjen to fill his roster spot.

Upton pulled up while attempting to steal a base during the eighth inning of .

He was removed from the game and was re-evaluated yesterday, when the decision was made to put him on the DL.

Upton is batting .301 with 20 homers and 66 RBIs this season.

Oeltjen, a 26-year-old outfielder from Sydney, Australia, was hitting .300 with 10 homers and 61 RBIs for Triple-A Reno.
