Pit bulls attack woman walking in Glendale

GLENDALE -- A woman was attacked by three pit bulls near 55th Avenue and Thunderbird Road in Glendale Wednesday morning.

According to the Glendale Police Department, a woman was walking near 55th Avenue and Thunderbird Road when she was bitten by three pit bulls.

According to the Glendale Police Department, the 30-year-old woman was walking in the neighborhood when she was bitten by the three dogs.

Glendale police Sgt. Ryan Horrall said the woman was bitten on her hand, forearm and possibly her back.

A bystander saw what happened and was able to get the victim safely into his car.

The woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Horrall said the dogs' owner wasn't home and police do not know how the dogs got out of the backyard.

Police were able to detain the dogs until Maricopa County Animal Control arrived.
