UPDATE: Tucson teen allegedly killed by stepbrother rememberedPosted: Updated:
TUCSON -- A Tucson teenager is in custody on suspicion he fatally shot his 14-year-old stepsister.
Pima County sheriff's deputies responded to a home at about 10 p.m. Saturday and found the girl, Alexandria Salinas, dead of a gunshot wound. No adults were in the home, but other siblings were.
Alexandria's stepbrother, 15-year-old Shelden Andrew Pruitt, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder. He was being held in the Pima County jail on $50,000 bail
Sheriff's spokeswoman Deputy Dawn Hanke says Shelden was in a room with Alexandria when he walked into another room, brought back a handgun and shot her once in the head while she talked on the phone.
Calls to the home were not returned.
It's unclear who the gun belonged to.
