PHOENIX (AP) -- The National Weather Service canceled severe thunderstorm warnings for the Phoenix and Tucson areas.

Weather officials had said the storm could have produced damaging winds of more than 60 mph, and that dense, blowing dust was possible.
The warnings expired at 7:15 p.m. after a strong storm failed to materialize.
Weather officials say a chance of thunderstorms will continue throughout the evening and that winds could gust between 25 and 40 mph.
