GILBERT -- Gilbert police say two men tried to abduct a 10-year-old girl Monday afternoon.

It happened at about 12:30 p.m. near Baseline and Power roads.
According to Gilbert police Sgt. Mark Marino, a man in a white van tried to grab the girl after calling to her.
The girl ran home and told family members.
The driver is described as African American, between 40 and 50 years old, bald with a goatee. He had words tattooed over his right eyebrow and an outline of a bird with its wings opened tattooed on the inside of his left forearm.
He also had one gold front tooth and one silver front tooth.
He was wearing black pants and a black shirt and had one big clear stone earring on his right ear.
His passenger is described as a black male, 20 to 30 years old with two hoop earrings in his right ear. He had tattoos with no visible color, just outlines, covering both arms.
He was wearing black pants, black shirt and a black baseball-style hat with the letter "B" on the front.
The vehicle is described as a newer white van with red mag-type wheels with a silver center hub and writing on the mags. The van had black leather seats and a window on the side that had a security cage screen behind the glass.
The license plate may have had black paint sprayed on the numbers and letters.
