Snowy conditions causing wrecks

SUNFLOWER - Snowfall is causing some hazardous driving conditions north of the Valley.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is reporting a number of weather-related crashes around the state.

Two of these crashes involved DPS vehicles just south of Flagstaff on the Interstate 17.

No officers were injured.

On State Route 87, multiple wrecks occurred, and one of the accidents became fatal just south of Sunflower along the Beeline Highway where a truck rolled over in the Northbound lanes.

The pickup driver lost control and ran off the road just after 4:00 p.m.

He died at the hospital.

Officials are still clearing a number of wrecks off the road and two of the weather-related wrecks are on the same highway, State Route 87, south of Payson.

Roads are wet, and DPS is warning of black ice developing.
