TUCSON -- U.S. Border Patrol agents seized 225 pounds of marijuana hidden in a pickup truck.
Agents working the immigration checkpoint on Interstate 19 wanted to further examine a 1991 Chevrolet pickup.
When agents approached the vehicle, the driver sped away. The vehicle was later found abandoned on the I-19 median.
A subsequent alert by a Border Patrol canine and a search of the vehicle revealed a hidden compartment containing approximately 226 pounds of marijuana with an estimated value of $180,800.
