Boy drowns, sister in critical condition

PHOENIX - Police are investigating two drowning incidents involving two children at the same house near 71st Ave. and McDowell.

A 4-year-old boy died as a result and his 5-year-old sister was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Glendale Fire tells 3TV the father was home at the time. Both kids were found in the pool in the backyard in what they described as "murky" water. The girl reportedly began screaming at some point and got the father's attention. When the dad went outside the boy had slipped under the water.

The pool had a fence, but due to the design which has curls on it, both children were able to climb the fence and get in the pool.
