Arizona's defense stout in 2-0 startPosted: Updated:
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- Arizona's big-play offense is getting all the attention in the Cardinals' first 2-0 start in 19 years. The overlooked defense has been just as good.
The Cardinals have allowed 23 points in victories over San Francisco and Miami. That's the fewest given up by the franchise in its opening two contests since 1977. The only touchdown the Dolphins scored on Sunday came in the final minutes with the outcome long since concluded.
Arizona is seventh in the NFL in yards allowed and tied for fifth in points given up heading into Sunday's game at Washington. The team has a 5-0 advantage in turnovers, with all of them coming against the 49ers.
