GLENDALE - Police in the Phoenix suburb of Glendale say an arrest has been made in a June home invasion robbery that left the homeowner and one of four assailants dead.
Police say four suspects armed with assault rifles kicked in the back door of a Glendale home on June 21. They were confronted by the armed homeowner and a gun battle ensued where the resident and one suspect were shot to death.
The three other assailants got away, leaving behind a sedan later identified as being owned by Jesus Adan Nevarez-Cota.
Nevarez-Cota was located on New Year's Eve by Phoenix police, who detained him for Glendale detectives. Glendale police say he admitted involvement in the home invasion and has now been booked on two first-degree murder charges. His age wasn't available.
