3 Suspects in early morning home invasion on the loose

GLENDALE -- Police are searching for three suspects who kicked in the front door of a Glendale apartment and robbed the family living there early Tuesday morning.

It happened shortly before 4:30 a.m. in the area of 59th Avenue and Bethany Home Road.

The family was asleep when the suspects busted in.

Police said the suspects, described as three large Hispanic men armed with handguns, demanded money and drugs.

The victims handed over the mother's purse and other valuables.

While the family was shaken up, nobody was physically hurt.

The suspects left the apartment, jumped into a vehicle and took off.

While it early in the investigation, police believe mistaken identity might have been a factor in the home invasion.
