O'Neal reacts strongly to Van Gundy flop comment

MIAMI (AP) -- Shaquille O'Neal flopped against Orlando center Dwight Howard. Now he's standing up to Magic coach Stan Van Gundy.

O'Neal responded Wednesday to Van Gundy's reaction about O'Neal's tactics against Howard on Tuesday night.

The Phoenix center called his former coach with the Miami Heat, "a master of panic" and "a front-runner."

During the third quarter, Howard made a spin move, O'Neal fell to the court in an effort to get an offensive foul called and the Magic center easily dunked with two hands.

When O'Neal played for Van Gundy for parts of two seasons, he openly complained about coaching decisions Van Gundy made in the 2005 Eastern Conference finals.

The Heat lost Game 7 at home to the Detroit Pistons.
