Queen Creek man dies in single vehicle accident on US 93

KINGMAN - The following is a press release from the Arizona Department of Public Safety:

On Friday, March 20, 2009, at about 1:08 p.m., the Arizona Department of Public Safety investigated a one vehicle fatality collision on US 93 near milepost 38 north bound.This is about 40 miles north of Kingman, Arizona.

Brandon Leland, 19, of Queen Creek, Arizona, was traveling northbound in a Toyota Celica when, for an unknown reason, he lost control of the vehicle which caused it to swerve into the median.The vehicle rolled over upon entering the median and Leland, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was ejected.Leland, who was not wearing a safety restraint at the time of the collision, was pronounced dead at the scene due to the injuries he sustained.

The collision investigation is still on-going, and impairment factors have not been determined.
