Man allegedly stole from Alzheimer's patients
GLENDALE - A nursing home employee was arrested for stealing jewelry from elderly residents.
Glendale police Sgt. Jim Cunningham said Sean Cady, 22, was a caregiver at the facility near 67th Avenue and Deer Valley Road in Glendale.
During the investigation, three victims who suffer from dementia/Alzheimer's disease were identified.
Cunningham said Cady would remove jewelry from the victims while they slept then take it to local pawn shops to compensate for a shortfall in his monthly income and to support a drug habit.
Officers found some of the jewelry at a local pawn shop.
Cady was arrested and charged with trafficking in stolen property and theft.
