Early voting expected to be heavy in ArizonaPosted: Updated:
STATEWIDE -- At least half of Arizona voters are expected to vote via early ballot in the upcoming presidential election.
Early voting is available in all of the state's 15 counties.
In addition, voters throughout the state can sign up for the Permanent Early Voter List, which the Legislature approved just last year.
Deputy Secretary of State Kevin Tyne said that looking at recent elections, officials think at least 50 percent of the state's voters will vote early.
As of Sept. 15, more that 610,000 of Maricopa County's 1.6 million registered voters have requested early ballots.
Early voting begins in just over two weeks on Thursday, Oct. 2.
