Diamondbacks right-hander Petit on disabled listPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX (AP) -- The Arizona Diamondbacks have placed right-hander Yusmeiro Petit on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right shoulder.
The injury was the reason Petit was lifted after four innings of Arizona's 5-4 loss to Washington on Friday night.
Petit (0-3, 8.03 ERA) had replaced injured Diamondbacks ace Brandon Webb in the rotation, and new D-backs manager A.J. Hinch says he hadn't decided who would take Petit's scheduled start next Wednesday against Cincinnati.
Right-handed reliever Bobby Korecky was recalled from Triple-A Reno to take Petit's roster spot.
Shortstop Stephen Drew is also being sent to Reno for a couple of rehabilitation starts.
Drew, sidelined since April 25 with a strained left hamstring, could rejoin Arizona before the current homestand ends.
