PHOENIX - Phoenix Police say they are doing their part to take dangerous criminals off the streets.

Since June of 2008 a special Warrant Interdiction Squad has been tracking down suspects and fugitives with outstanding warrants.

The police department says the experimental program covered just north Phoenix and has been a huge success.

The special squad consists of just 21 people but has made almost 1,300 arrests for all types of offenses.
