Troop leader accused of stealing from Girl Scouts

SCOTTSDALE -- Thousands of dollars made selling Girl Scout cookies was stolen and now Scottsdale police believe the troop leader took it.

Troop leader accused of stealing from Girl Scouts - Trisha Proud faces a theft charge after allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from her former Girl Scout troop.

Trisha Proud is facing one count of theft.

Investigators say her Girl Scout troop based out of Sonoran Sky Elementary School in Scottsdale sold more than $8,000 in cookies.

The troop was planning to use the money to go to Disneyland this summer, but instead police say Proud took the cash.

Investigators are trying to determine whether anyone else was involved.
