SCOTTSDALE - The following is a press release from the Scottsdale Police Department:

On Sunday at 1:30 PM SPD was called to a residence in the area of Thomas and Scottsdale Roads in reference to a Sexual Assault. The suspect (who had been friends with the victim prior to this act) entered the residence of the victim and threatened her with a knife then began to sexually assault her. The victim was unsure how he gained entry to her home. A third party arrived at the residence which scared off the suspect. He ran out the rear door and left the area in his vehicle, a gray Chevy Pickup. A short time later this vehicle was found, parked in the area of 2800 N. Officers searched the area and found the suspect hiding underneath a vehicle on the property. The suspect was then taken into custody without further incident.

The victim was treated at SMH-Osborn for the Sexual Assault.

The suspect was booked on counts of Kidnap, Sexual Assault, Burglary, and Aggravated Assault.
