Gun found on plane heading to Phoenix from Philly

PHOENIX -- A US Airways employee and passenger are in custody after authorities found an unloaded handgun on a Phoenix-bound plane.

Philadelphia police say the semi-automatic handgun was found in a bag in an overhead compartment. The passenger, Damen Young, apparently knew the male employee identified as Roshid Milledge and wanted to transport the gun to Phoenix on the 7 a.m. flight.

Philadelphia police say another passenger contacted authorities after seeing a man hand off the bag to the airline employee, bypassing the security screening.

The plane was searched after it taxied back to the gate. The two suspects are in custody and have been charged in a Philidelphia Federal Court.
