MESA -- The man accused of running down a group of people with his Hummer appeared before a judge Wednesday.

Jonathan Sosnowicz faces second-degree murder charges for hitting and killing Jereme Privett.

Sosnowicz allegedly plowed into Privett after a bar fight in Mesa last month.

He fled the scene, but officer later arrested him at his home in Gilbert.

Records show that Sosnowicz has spent time in prison.


MESA -- Police say Jonathan Leigh Sosnowicz attempted to run over four people in the parking lot. Two of them were able to jump out of the way, one was brushed on his arm by the side of the Hummer, and the victim was hit.

MESA -- Mesa police announced late Sunday night they have made an arrest after police say a driver hit and killed a 25-year-old man with a Hummer H2 following a fight at a club early Sunday morning.

The suspect is identified as 31-year-old Jonathan Leigh Sosnowicz. A news release from Mesa police said Sosnowicz was booked on one count of 2nd degree murder and three counts of aggravated assault.

Witnesses told police the victim, identified as Jereme Privett, was in a physical fight with Sosnowicz in the parking lot of the Salty Senorita.

Police say the victim was hit by the white Hummer in the club's parking lot after the fight.

Witnesses at the scene said it appeared intentional. The Hummer drove away without stopping and police later spotted the Hummer driving to a Gilbert house.

Mesa police say forensic evidence was located on the Hummer's front end during the execution of a search warrant Sunday.

MESA - This morning at approx 2:20 am, Mesa Police officers responded to the Salty Senorita club after emergency calls were received about a male subject being hit in the parking lot by a white Hummer H2. The Salty Senorita is located at 1862 S. Stapley Road in Mesa.

The victim, a 25 year old male, was struck by the Hummer H2 in the parking lot after a physical altercation had ensued. The victim was killed as a result of his injuries. The Hummer drove away from the scene without stopping.

Officers sent out the vehicle's description and the Hummer was located by a Gilbert Police officer who observed the vehicle drive to a residence in Gilbert in the area of Cooper and Warner.

Mesa Police detectives are in the preliminary stages of this investigation and are not releasing names of those involved in this case.
