MESA -- Crews were called to the scene of a rescue at a water treatment plant under construction at Elliot and Signal Butte roads in Mesa Friday morning.
According to the Mesa Fire Department, a hose being used to pour concrete into a exploded shortly before 7 a.m. Concrete was scattered up to 60 feet.
Three people were hurt. Two of them were in a precarious position atop 25-foot-tall scaffolding.
Protective barriers on that scaffolding kept the workers from falling, said Battalion Chief Larry Spade
Video from NewsChopper 3 showed rescuers using a crane that was already at the site to lower the injured men to the ground.
